If you’re working and Medicare eligible or covered by Medicare, you may be able to: retain your employer sponsored health plan, if any, and/or solely elect Medicare and enroll in a Medicare Supplement and Medicare Drug Plan.
Consider your options at work versus those you can obtain individually carefully. Some employer sponsored health plans may require you to obtain both Medicare A & B when you become eligible. And, if you’re covered under an employer plan and Medicare – you may have questions about who pays first.

Open Enrollment
The period of time each year when you can sign up for or change your benefits.
Special Enrollment
A (short) period of time that allows you to make changes to your elections outside of open enrollment. Special enrollment is triggered by events in your life such as birth, adoption, marriage, divorce, death, a dependent becomes too old, or you/dependents lose eligibility for coverage. Special enrollment also applies to newly hired/benefit eligible employees. Ask us to find out if you have a special enrollment and what that means to you.
When you need care, arm yourself with good information and use good providers. If things get you down, keep your goal focused on getting well – quicker. And, when you get well – set your goal on staying well longer!
